2月はもともと日数が短い上、学生の異動も多いので仕事が超多忙。特に論文が通るか通らないか、修得単位がきちんと足りてるか、足りていないかで、学生の進学も左右されます。そういう単位等のチェックをするのも私の仕事の一部。仕事をやりながら、気持ちはすっかり学生さんの母親のような気分でハラハラしながらチェック。最近ではこの仕事を通して、親の気持ちもよくわかるようになってきました。この1年間で色々な学生達との出会いもたくさんありました。何かあると窓口に常連のように来る学生、要注意とマークされている学生、きちんとしている学生、最後の最後まで顔を知らない学生などなど。もう少ししたら、新入生を迎える準備も始まります。今年はどんな学生が入ってくるんだろう？？と思いながら、新しい出会いに内心ちょっとワクワクするのでした。

February is a very short month. And there are many students graduating or going on to the next grade, so my work is very busy. The students going on to the next grade or graduating will depend on whether one's thesis will pass or not and whether one has enough grades to pass the course or not. And checking students' grades is one of my job. While I'm checking, I feel like a mother and I feel a bit nervous when I check. Recently through my work, I came to understand a bit of how a parent would feel toward her child. Throughout the year, I met many students. There were students who would always come to my office whenever some thing occurs, students who are marked as cautious students, very good students, students whom I didn't see until the very end of the year and etc. In a little while, I'll be getting things ready for new students in my office. I wonder what types of students will enter this year?? And I'm looking forward to seeing the new students soon.
