From Saturday morning, we were snowboarding at ski resort where we can see the beautiful view of Lake Inawashiro. At first, we were worried about the snow, but there was enough to snowboard. I took beginner's lesson and hiroro took middle class lesson, but snowboarding is harder than skiing. If your body is too stiff than you can't make a turn smoothly. I have not yet learned how to make a turn but I can side board now. But we had muscle pains already on Saturday night. The B&B that we had stayed was near the ski resort. TheB&B had a friendly hospitality, delicious meals and nice hot spring bath to ease our muscle pains. So it was a great place to stay. During our dinner dessert, the owner of the B&B came out from the kitchen with hiroro's birthday cake and sang a birthday song, too. His birthday was celebrated by everyone staying there. He didn't expect this at all, and he gave me this look saying, "You did it again!". It was funny to see him give me that look. Next day, we visited Aizu Wakamatsu which is about 30 minutes drive from the B&B. When you hear the city Aizu Wakamatsu, Byakko Tai of Boshin War will immediately come up in my mind. Since I'm a history lover, I explained to him the history of Aizu Wakamatsu as we walked around the museums. Fortunately, we watched last year's NHK's Taiga drama, "Shinsengumi". So I explained the history as I mixed some stories from the drama, too. So it was easier for hiroro to understand. Because I'm a literature and history person and hiroro is science and math person, our fields of interests differs into two. On our way home, we bought local sake and came home. It was an overnight weekend trip in a while. I wonder when and where can we go on our next overnight weekend trip??
