きのう「2008-2009あなたが選ぶ カー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」のノミネート車を展示するイベントが開催されている、横浜赤レンガ倉庫に行ってきました。
会場には今年のノミネート車と去年の受賞車が展示され、隣接している投票所でタッチパネルの端末から投票できるということで、私も投票してきました。
私が選んだクルマというと
「スポーツカー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」は、アストンマーティン DBS
「セダン・オブ・ザ・イヤー」は、シトロエン C5
「インポートカー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」は、ジャガー XF
「エコカー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」と「コンパクトカー・オブ・ザ・イヤー」は、トヨタ iQ
「K4オブ・ザ・イヤー」は、ワゴンR
そして「大賞」は、・・・・・・・・・アストンマーティン DBS
一度は運転してみたい憧れのクルマです。映画「007／カジノ・ロワイヤル」に登場したボンドカーとして有名ですが、来年１月に公開される新作にも登場するようです。
栄えある大賞に輝いたのは、トヨタ iQ でした。
モータージャーナリストの投票によって決定する「日本カー・オブ・ザ・イヤー(COTY)」と同じ結果となりました。
トヨタ iQは大賞とECOカー部門のダブル受賞
ＣＯＴＹと同じ結果では、このイベント自体の特色が薄れるのではないでしょうか。
確かにトヨタのiQ は、新しい技術が投入された革新的なクルマですばらしいとは思います。
けれど、私には「欲しい」とか「運転したい」とは思えないんですよね。
