スラッシュを入れる位置 １，前置詞の前, 長い主語の後
Amazon started doing business in Japan in the year 2000.
スラッシュは前置詞の前に入れます。
Amazon started doing business/ in Japan/ in the year 2000.
アマゾンは開業した、 日本で、 2000年に。
The city where I live is the oldest in Japan.
スラッシュは長い主語の終わり、前置詞の前に入れます。
The city where I live/ is the oldest/ in Japan.
ただし、句動詞（＝動詞＋前置詞）の場合は前置詞の前にスラッシュは入れません。
動詞＋前置詞で一つの述語と考えます。
例えば、
A fire broke out/ during night.
火事が起きた、夜間に。
I came across this old photo/ in the drawer.
私はこの古い写真を偶然見つけた、引き出しの中に。
スラッシュを入れる位置 2、関係詞（関係代名詞、関係副詞）の前
Show me how you opened the application.
スラッシュは関係副詞の前に入れます。
Show me/ how you opened the application.
I know a boy who can play the flute well.
スラッシュは関係代名詞の前に入れます。
I know a boy/ who can play the flute well.
私は一人の少年を知っている、彼はフルートを上手に吹けます。
スラッシュを入れる位置 3、接続詞、疑問詞の前
くwhen, while, before, till, as, if, though などがあります。
I know /that Mark is from Boston.
私は知っている、マークがボストン出身であることを。
The fact is/ that I don’t know anything/ about the matter.
事実は、私が何も知らないという事だ、その件について。
I’m sure/ (that) he’ll be here/ in an hour.
きっと、彼はここに来るだろう、一時間後に。
He asked me/ whether or not I would go/ to the movies.
彼は私に尋ねた、私が行くかどうかを、映画に。
My mother always sings/ when she works/ in the kitchen.
母はいつも歌を歌う、作業をするとき、キッチンで。
She spoke clearly/ so that we could understand her.
彼女はハッキリ話した、私たちが理解できるように。
I don’t know/ where he is from.
私は知らない、彼がどこの出身かを。
スラッシュを入れる位置 4、to不定詞の前
I want a chair/ to sit on.
私は椅子が欲しい、座るための。
She went to Paris/ to study art.
彼女はパリへ行った、芸術を学ぶために。
スラッシュを入れる位置 5、カンマ、コロン、セミコロンの後。

スラッシュは前置詞の前に入れます。
