　昨日はこのブログで早とちりして、アルゴリズムをめぐって展開するダン・ブラウンの小説『ディジタル・フォートレス』を紹介するつもりが、画像もまちがえて『ザ・ロスト・シンボル（失われた象徴）』(2009年）を掲載してしまった。すぐに気がついて画像とともに訂正した。
　それで今日はあらためて『ザ・ロスト・シンボル』を紹介しようと思う。

　この小説は、アメリカ合衆国議会議事堂の建物と首都ワシントンDCの都市構造についての象徴学をめぐる冒険小説である。昨年1月6日のアメリカ合衆国議会議事堂暴動事件は、いま現在も同国では捜査がつづいている。民主主義を国家の基本理念とするアメリカの象徴である議会議事堂が、議会開催中に暴徒によって襲撃されたのだった。
　・・・その議事堂が、じつはフリーメイソンの象徴を秘めて建築されている。
　フリーメイソンは元々は石工の組合のようなもので、ヨーロッパ中世の封建社会の制度下で建築事業における石工たちの既得権を維持するため、および伝統技術を守秘するためにできた職業的な結社である。後には知名人士が加入するようになった。加入儀式（イニュッシエイション）は厳格な宣誓のうえ秘密裏におこなわれた。かの万有引力の発見者アイザック・ニュートンもそのメンバーだったといわれる。
　合衆国初代大統領ワシントンがフリーメイソンの団員だったことは良く知られている。
　しかしアメリカ合衆国議会議事堂がフリーメイソンの象徴学にもとづいて建てられていたとは、私はこの小説で初めて知った。議事堂ばかりではない。ワシントンDCの都市構造がシンボリックだという。

　著者ダン・ブラウンおとくいの象徴学・図像学がテンコ盛りである。もちろん全体はフィクショナルなエンターテイメンとであるが、象徴学・図像学の謎解きは非常に良くできていておもしろい。謎の小さなピラミッドのオブジェをめぐって国家組織による国際的規模の冒険活劇は展開する。
　古色蒼然のお膳立てのようだが、そうではない。とんでもない最新科学の問題がでてくる。「おい、ほんとかよ！？」って、ね。ハハハハ、読んでのお楽しみです。

Yesterday, I'm jumping to conclusion on this blog to
introduce Dan Brown's novel "Digital Fortress", which
develops over algorithms, but the image of the book
is wrong. "The Lost Symbol"(2009). Has been posted.
I immediately noticed it and corrected it with the
image.
So toay I would like to introduce "The Lost Symbol"
again.

This novel is an adventure novel about the building
of the United States Capitol and the urban structure
of the capital Washington, DC.
The United States Capitol riots on January 6, last
year, are still under investigation in the country. The
Capitol, a symbol of America with democracy as the
nation's basic philosophy, was attacked by mobs
during Congress.
The Capitol was actually built with the symbol of
Freemasonry.
Freemasonry was originally like a masonry union,
a professional association formed to maintain the
masonry's vested interests in the construction
business under the feudal system of the Middle
Ages of Europe and to keep traditional techniques
secret. Later, celebrities came to join. The enroll-
ment ceremony was held in secret wirh a strict
oath. It is said that Isaac Newton, the discoverer
of universal gravitation, was also a member.
It is well known that the first president of the
United States, Washing ton was a member of
Freemasonry.
However, I learned for the first time in this
novel that the United States Capitol was built on
the basis of Freemasonry's symbolism. It's not
just the Capitol. The urban structure of Washing-
ton DC is said to be symbolic.
Author Dan Brown is skilful at iconography and
symbology. They are in full swing. Of course, the
whole story is a fictional entertaiment, but the
mystery of symbology and ionography is very
well done and interesting. An international-scale
swashbuckler by a national organization unfold
over a mysterious little pyramid object.
It seems to be an old-fashioned setting, but
it is not. A ridiculous latest scientific problem
comes up. "Hey, really!?" HAhahaha. You are
