Kazufumi Miyazawa THE BOOM , has visited various countries in the world and he must be known well.
Their music is based on rock music, and they've tried various kinds of music -techno, world music and traditional music.
In 1993, their " Shimauta " made a smash hit, which is included in this album again twenty years later.
And they have written various songs that express affection to local hometown in Okinawa
-Such as the title tune " Sekaide ichiban utsukushii shima " (the most beautiful island in the world) , and " Shinkanucha ("family" or "fellow" in Okinawa word) .
In this album, some songs are written in dialect of Okinawa, and they perform songs written by a grand musician of local folk song, and they cover traditional songs in Okinawa.
But actually, they are not from Okinawa but Yamanashi, a prefecture in eastern Japan with no access to the sea.

According to Miyazawa, when " Shimauta " made a smash hit, some local people repelled that out-of-towners sing about Okinawa and perform local musical instruments.
But younger generation changed the situation.
Thanks to this song, younger people began to take interested in local traditional songs and then traditional culture.
Gradually, more and more people are proud of their birthplaces and hometown.
Now they accept this song as a song of hometown, and this song is indispensable for traditional dancing.
Miyazawa says that when they went to Okinawa for the first time, he had an impression that that this place lacked in spirits, but people's mind change in twenty years.
In twenty years, the local people have cultivated pride for their native places and resolution to live with their home town.
