阪神大震災の犠牲者の鎮魂と、被災地の復興を願う光のイベント「神戸ルミナリエ」が9日午後、神戸市中央区の旧外国人居留地などで始まった。約20万個の電球が夜空を彩り、約7万人（午後6時現在）の観客が酔いしれた。震災から10年が過ぎ、新たな一歩を踏み出すという意味を込め「光の第2章」が今年のテーマ。参加者全員で犠牲者に黙とうした後、約270メートルの街路に設けられたアーチ「光の回廊」などが一斉に点灯された。震災直後、避難所でボランティア活動をしたという神戸市西区の高校教師、久保田明彦さん（47）は「被災者が協力して震災に立ち向かい、乗り越えた当時を思い出した」と目に涙を浮かべていた。開催は22日まで。平日は午後6時、土日は午後5時半に点灯する。
