It was a good seminar to listen to for Japanese women. Ms. Sasaki is a quite active person. She started her career as a TV reporter. And while she was working as a TV reporter, she established her own company called UNICUL International. For me, a president of a company means VIP, so I’m not allowed to be close to him / her. But Ms. Sasaki doesn’t have an aura like other VIPs.
I felt that she was a real businessperson, neither businessmen nor businesswomen.
I always consider doing something if it is allowed for me or somebody in my position to do this or not, before I do some action. But it seemed she didn’t care these things. She do something that she believes it is right thing to do.
I suppose it is very difficult for her to make time for her family. She was asked this question from one of the audience, and she replied “I’m not the only one who is a working mother” Her speech made me have a confident for myself.
I think that is the most difficult thing for Japanese women. We used to be trained to become a good housewives and mothers. The good example is this. I went to a girl’s high school. The president made a speech something like “we will train all of you to become a good housewives and mothers” at an entrance ceremony.
Now, the president was changed and the school’s motto changed to help their student to become a global person. Things changed so rapidly.
I think that was quite a good experienced for me to keep working confident, satisfied, and happy.
