Howard to discuss uranium issue with Indian PM

TONY JONES: The Prime Minister, John Howard, is tonight holding talks with his Indian counterpart in New Delhi, with the issue of future uranium sales high on the agenda. India's Prime Minister today confirmed he wants to talk about buying uranium from Australia. Despite a long-standing government policy against such a sale, John Howard left the possibility open on his arrival in India yesterday. But on the first day of his official visit, he moved to clarify his position, saying there is no current plan to change the policy. From New Delhi, our South Asia correspondent Geoff Thompson reports.
