A feel-good move is what some human rights groups are calling the visit to a refugee camp in Turkey by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and some top EU leaders. Critics say the goal is to convince themselves and others that the refugee deal struck between the EU and Turkey is positive for all and that is why they are seeing a sanitized version of what really is taking place. Is the EU really concern about the plight and welfare of the refugees are does it simply want to past on its problem elsewhere, no matter the cost in human terms? Human Rights Watch is asking the European Union to reconsider its refugee deal with Turkey.
