アラブの国を訪れた人はその自然の厳しさに驚く。私が始めてアラブのある国に行った時、こんな所によく人間が住んでいるなというのが私の第一印象だった。その時、サウジアラビアで働いた後で、その国に来た日本人のことを現地の人があの人はサウジに住んだので性格が荒くなっていると評しているのを聞いて、サウジの自然のさらなる厳しさを想像した。

自然の厳しさがアラブのテロを生み出した理由の一つではないかと考えている。

Hostage of Japanese men by Islamic State sparked the outrage of people in the world as well as in Japan. Many Islamists say that those terrolist groups are not true Islamist. But specialists point out that some rich Arabs assist Islamic terrolists financially. We have heard this rumour for some time. But it is hard to believe that someone who is in elite class of society supports terrorist group. I imagine that Arabic world tends to accepts violence and this trend bred extremists by combining with Islam. 

When people visit Arab for the first time, they are surprised at its severe climate. My first impression in an Arabic country was "How can people survive this harsh environment?" I heard some Arabs say, commenting on Japanese man who came to that country after working in Saudi Arabia, that he became a rough person because he was in Saudi for some time. Hearing it, I immidiately associated Saudi with even harsher climate.

Severe climate must be one of the causes to breed terrorists.
