3When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders.

4 " I have sinned," he said " for I have betrayed innocent blood." " What is that to us?" they replied. " That's your responsibility." 5 So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.

6 The chief priests picked up the coins and said, " It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money." 7 So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners. 8 That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9 Then what was fulfilled: " They took the thirty silver coins, the price set on him by the people of Israel.  Matthew 27:2~10 

２それから、イエスを縛って連れ出し、総督ピラトに引き渡した。３そのとき、イエスを売ったユダは、イエスが罪に定められたのを知って後悔し、銀貨三十枚を、祭司長、長老たちに返して、４「私は罪を犯した。罪のない人の血を売ったりして。」と言った。しかし、彼らは、「私たちの知ったことか。自分で始末することだ。｣と言った。

５それで、彼は銀貨を神殿に投げ込んで立ち去った。そして、外に出て行って、首をつった。６祭司長たちは銀貨を取って「これを神殿の金庫に入れるのはよくない。血の代価だから。｣と言った。７彼らは相談して、その金で陶器師の畑を買い、旅人たちの墓地にした。

８それで、その畑は、今でも地の畑と呼ばれている。９そのとき、預言者エレミヤを通して言われた事が成就した。「彼らは銀貨三十枚を取った。イスラエルの人々に値積もりされた値段である。１０彼らは、主が私にお命じなったように、その金を払って、陶器師の畑を買った。」　マタイ　２７：２～１０
