ローマ法王がフィリピンで大規模ミサ

フィリピンは１億人の人口のおよそ８割がカトリック教徒とされ、台風の接近で雨が降るなか、政府によりますと、ミサの会場やその周辺には全国各地から６００万人の人々が集まりました。
フィリピンでは政府高官や議員らによる汚職と、経済発展による格差や貧困が、大きな社会問題になっており、フランシスコ法王は「人間による罪が貧困と汚職がはびこる社会を作り出している」と述べ、汚職の撲滅と公正な社会の実現を願いました。

The Pope has given hope to the people, says Vatican spokesperson
MANILA - Fr. Federico Lombardi, Vatican spokesperson and director of the Holy See Press Office, expressed gratitude to the Filipino people on behalf of His Holiness Pope Francis for the "marvelous" and "incredible" welcome consistently given to the pope during his 5-day visit in Manila.
“Before, it was in Manila, in 1995, at 4-5 million. Manila 2015 is 6-7 million… it is really impressive," he said.
“We have to recognize that the way in which the pope has been received is marvelous. Extraordinary. The pope was very touched. The numbers were incredible. In a sense, the whole nation is around and the pope appreciated it very much,” Lombardi said.
Lombardi said he got the figures from Philippine authorities, but stressed the Vatican entourage had no way to independently confirm the numbers.
These past days have given the Filipinos a glimpse of the “spontaneous” characteristic of the pontiff, according to Lombardi.

しかし先輩邦人の話では実質25％しかいないと言っていた。
他は新興宗教のようです。
新興宗教大手のイグナチアがこの後カソリックに対抗で
大きな集会を企画し政府に特別祭日を要求しているようです。
その彼らは多分人口の30％位で、
イグナチアで検索かけるとイエズス会系だろうと？
あまりよくわからないや。
でも、以前会社にはモルモン教徒の子もいましたね。
そうして知らなかったのですが、
今回のフィリピン訪問で特別Pope Mobileを製造してました。
ジープニーまたはジプニー (jeepney) とは、フィリピンの全土でみられる乗合タクシーである。現地では単に「ジープ」と呼ばれる。もともとは第二次世界大戦後にフィリピン駐留アメリカ軍払い下げのジープを改造して製作されたのが始まりで、 Jeep と北米で乗合タクシーを意味する アメリカ英語: jitney との合成語として jeepney と呼ばれるようになった。
イスズとキアモーターが作ったのね。

Continuing this simple living, the Pope tonight refused the Kobe beef served for his first dinner at the Apostolic Nunciature where he will be staying during his Manila visit.
Instead, he asked for a piece of balut, that lowly but delicious boiled duck embryo peddled in the streets of the metropolis and a favorite food of poor people.
“I came here in solidarity with the poor and disadvantaged, so I want to eat as they eat,” the Pope said in Latin.
以前もニュース記事で読んでたが
法王は一般的なフィリピン人が食べる料理になると。
フィリピン初日のお食事にコーベ牛を拒否して、
バロット（孵化直前のアヒルの卵を加熱したゆで卵）をお願いしたようです。
さすがに私はまだバロットは食べてない
やっぱり今の法王のほうが好きだわ。
