[The Future of Society—Prosperity and Development Based on the Principle of Love]
~From Lessons Learned Through Civilizational Experiments to the Establishment of a System of Equal Opportunity for All Children of God~
Since this is my first time addressing you, I would like to share my thoughts on shaping the future of Earth.
Today, there are numerous economists, and amid the ideological struggle between capitalism and communism, people have gone through countless trials and errors. I believe that what has driven people all along is the ideal of how to bring happiness to others.
Through economic activity, economists—as well as those who study law and social institutions from a societal perspective—have sought to determine the path to bringing happiness to people through material means, lifting them out of the struggle with poverty, by pursuing the equal distribution of wealth and the equalization of opportunities.
In modern and contemporary times, we have witnessed the outcomes and final conclusions of these ideological conflicts.
Humanity is surely learning that the communist system is now meaningless—that it was merely the result of a civilizational experiment.
It is not our mission to always provide humanity with answers. Our mission is to create an environment that offers humanity the opportunity to learn firsthand, through the course of civilizational experimentation, what is truly right.
How futile ideological conflict is, and how imposing equality through wealth stifles the motivation of human beings—the children of God.
And with the end of communism, a new era is now beginning.
Although the communist system has been rejected and we are now moving toward democratization, I do not believe that the capitalist system has triumphed within this trend toward democratization.
While such a relativistic framework of binary opposition may have been useful for your education, we do not believe that the capitalist and democratic systems you learned about within that framework are by any means the absolute good, and people will eventually come to learn this through their own experiences.
Now, following the collapse of communism, we are witnessing the collapse of the capitalist system.
Such developments will continue to unfold over time—
At present, the United States stands as the leading nation in the capitalist system, guiding the world.
However, the time will come when even such a nation will collapse with a loud crash.
Amid the conflict between the two opposing systems of capitalism and communism, the fact that one collapsed first does not mean the other won. We have spent all this time observing the situation so that humanity could learn that neither of these paths was the true way.
That said, I do not believe that a system like that of ancient times—one in which a benevolent leader connected to the divine, as in what is called “rule by virtue,” guides the entire populace—will remain effective in the world to come.
In ancient times, there was a system in which a select few virtuous leaders—such as the women known as “shamanesses” in Hyūga—governed the people by connecting to the heavenly realm through oracles similar to those of Delphi, thereby bringing divine guidance down to earth.
Subsequently, a hollowed-out version of this system may have taken the form of medieval absolutism.
A social system will emerge in which people, in a sense, emerge from within this comprehensive, integrated whole.
In this system, based on the recognition that each individual is a child of God, the question of how to govern this earth as children of God will not be left solely to a select few rulers. Instead, each and every person, united in this common aspiration, will establish a system that cannot be labeled as either communism or capitalism.
As a result, a system of equal opportunity for all children of God will emerge.
You cannot understand this.
It may be something you cannot even imagine right now.
It is not about being ruled by a single member of royalty or a single absolute authority figure.
Nor is it about high-handed, domineering rule.
By awakening to the awareness that each person is a child of God, by joining hands with one another, and by recognizing that it is each individual’s responsibility to protect this Earth—through connecting with God themselves, maintaining a vertical connection with the Divine, and forming horizontal bonds with fellow human beings—we will lead this planet, Earth, toward magnificent evolution and development.
The time is coming when this will be established in both economic institutions and political systems.
