「A blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (6,000 cases; 13.5% alcohol), the dense ruby/purple-tinged 2004 exhibits a firm, classic Bordeaux structure, and aromas of new saddle leather intermixed with cedar, spice box, black cherries, incense, and licorice. While less successful than most vintages of Monbousquet, it is medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic, and well-structured. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2017.
