I am writing you because we desperately need your help. There are over 200 dogs (originally rescued from puppy mills) in Osaka, Japan that are facing extermination by the Osaka prefecture on Feb. 27th 7a.m. (In Japan time - Time seems like due but we are not giving up just yet). Out of over 200 dogs, more than of these dogs have been infected by Brucella canis and that is the reason for extermination. Osaka prefecture has done so little to save these dogs' lives. It seems to me that they never meant to help them in the first place. These dogs can be saved by appropriate treatment but nothing has been done. There are couple of organizations in Japan that have been trying to save these dogs (and have capability of saving them), but Osaka prefecture has denied and ignored all of their attempts to help. We need to stop killing dogs that are treatable and we need your help to change their mind about this.
For references and more information about this, British Border Collie Rescue Group have offer support and posted the information on their website:
Here, you can see how terrible things are. http://www.bordercollierescue.org/Foriegn/Asia/Japanese%20Dogs.html
I sincerely hope that your organization can write a report about this and help spread the message across the world and help these treatable dogs and teach the Japanese government that this is not how to treat animals.
I sincerely hope that my email can be help to these animals who does nothing but to love us after all the mistreatment they have faced.
