", too. And in1988, he recorded a single "Okinawa", mixing beat ballade and the element of traditional music in Okinawa. Kadomatsu never gives old Japanese musical instruments special treatment.
He doesn't want to treat traditional music in Japan as world music. For him, they are a part of elements he selects for what he wants to create. He is pursuing pop music only Japanese can create and perform. He expresses it as a journey searching for the roots of Japanese
