The latest album of Sing Like Talking " Empowerment " was going to come on Apr. 6, 2011.
However... On the very day of the earthquake on Mar. 11 , Chikuzen Satou and his manager was in Sendai to take part in a radio program -one of the area damaged badly.
Fortunately, thanks to the kindness of staffs of the radio station, they could shelter in the studio until they could arrange a car to come back to Tokyo.
All the staffs of the radio station were struggling hard to provide information and music in a state of emergency.
As Chikuzen watched the situation, he keenly felt magnificence of power of humanity and music -he placed the statement on their official site later.
And some of their concerts from this spring were canceled.
Even so, their concert tour has started, changing the form and contents.
To begin with, in Tokyo and Osaka.
Various guests are invited for those two stages named as reconstruction of spirit , held as reconstruction support event.
And "Empowerment" is coming on May 18 .
There are some people accuse that it is indiscreet to perform and enjoy music under such a situation.
But I read an interview of a fashion designer on a magazine:
He held a fashion and performance show on a broad scale in Russia after the dissolution of Soviet Union.
Back then, some people around him said that it would be better to bring some bread in times of political turbulence.
if there are three pieces of bread, they would have only two and instead of one more, they would like to receive something for spiritual nourishment .
And remember, finding fault is foolproof and proof of foolishness.
As one of the music fans and a petty musician, I'm also the one wondering what music can do for people in such a disaster.
Now it might be time to be called into question what kind of music really save, cheer up and inspire people...
Today, I'd like to take this occasion to show respect for Cindy Lauper
And let me take this occasion to show my gratitude for various support from entertainment world.
