Fortunately, this friend texted me that all the family members were safe, but they must have spent a fearful night.
It was earthquake with an intensity of six on the seismic scale and there were many injured people, but it was a miracle that there was no casualty ;
There could be unfortunate cases that people are killed instantly by fallen objects or being crushed under collapsed houses.
Besides, there were massive fire at the earthquake in Kobe, and tsunamis at 3.11 earthquake -which claimed so many lives.
But this time, we cannot simply call it miracle.

Reportedly, according to the residence, after they could escape safe, they went to save neighbors, and called rescue squad at the spots in need, and all the people trapped under collapsed houses were saved.
As I read the news, I thought of earthquake in Kobe:
