Togetherness / SING LIKE TALKING

After S.L.T. made their debut, it took time to be recognized and they went through hardship,
　Then they began to rise in popularity.
　　Their former album " Encounter " won the top of the chart,
　　　And they went into period of seeking "music of S.L.T." again.

The title " Togetherness " shows their resolution to create their music with various people ;
What it means to them for them to pass down great things and working on something together.
Just when this album was about to be completed, Chikuzen Satou talked at an interview from a music journal S.L.T. place reliance on:

They began to consider how to have musicians working together flesh out their songs, since music, melody and chord progression they create are mere structures .
Instead of exerting strong control by three members of S.L.T., they began to work on recordings and arrangement on even ground with musicians taking part in recordings.
The opening number " Together " starts with sampled phrase from Django Reinhardt 's " Dinah ".
This is also an expression of their resolution they express with the title of this album.
In this spring , they performed this song starting with " How High The Moon ", and they talked that they start with phrases from various jazz songs when they perform "Together" on stage .
One of the noteworthy things is: Strings arrangement for " Your Love " and " Tomoshibino youni " (like a candle light) is by Clare Fischer .
Chikuzen learned that what is important to create their music; how musicians work together, expressing what kind of message with each musical instruments and song .
Satoru Shionoya alias SALT, who took part in recordings of this alum, respects Clare a lot, and after the recording of those two songs, he said that he is bringing back music sheet and study strings arrangement.
Later, Clare took part in recordings of their next album " Discovery " and engaged in strings arrangement again.
In this October, they had special concerts in Osaka and Tokyo; they performed with strings section.
how they learned a lot from Clare, and they are already over fifty and now they can express this song enough , and performed those two songs.
In 2018, their 30th anniversary is coming.
The title of this special concert was " 27/30 " - counting up to their 30th anniversary .
Next year, they plan to have their first open-air concerts on their own, and perform with horn section.
