Seized By the Moment
The sky was pitch black. The water of the ocean was reflecting the city lights, and the white waves were coming to the shore over and over again. I could smell the Hibiscus slightly scented in the air. I was walking on the street by the shore on Waikiki, Hawaii with my date. I felt his warm temperature on my hand as he held it. The street was packed with tourists heading to somewhere else. We walked on the street where it was partially wet by the sprinklers. The scent of the ocean, the scent of hibiscus, and the smell of the wet road made a strange aroma. As we walked on the street, the cool sea breeze hit on my side of my face and it made my hair stream out in the wind.
I slowly took off my flip flops and I felt the cool air on my feet. I walked down on the sand, feeling the partial pebbles on my feet. The sand was dried, yet it had its weight. My feet were all sandy and so were my jeans. I sat down on the sand and looked at the tide of the sea. The sea breeze was getting chilly as the sun went down. As the cool sea breeze caressed my body, I felt my friend’s warm temperature on my shoulder.
I laid down my head on his chest, I looked up the sky. The sky was covered with billions of stars that were sparkling like diamonds. The frosting of the stars was located at billions of miles away, yet it did not lose its shine. It was the dwellings of mother nature. The city lights looked weakly comparing to the sparkle stars. The moon was placed in the sky, surrounded by the great stars.
The waves were hitting the shore endlessly, like they did not know how to stop sounding like it was serenading us. There was no one but us; all I could hear was the sound of the sea, playing its endless quiet love song. It was the moment that I would never forget. It was the seized moment I have caught by nature and love.
