So, how have ya been babes!? My hubby and I got some nasty flu and that blew all our plans (gah!) including all fancy-schmancy dinners. All the good stuff is sitting in my fridge/freezer (yeah, whydontcha stop by for a dinner?) because my hubby and I were too sick to drink the good Champaign, too weak to eat good Italian ham and cheese (boo-hoo!).
In the meantime, I lived on rice, veggies, tofu, milk, and veggie juice. Meat was simply not an option (well, I don’t eat that much meat anyways) My stomach is not back in shape yet, so I’m still depending on veggie juice and tofu, but I’m getting better, so don’t you worry.
What saved my hubby and I (besides those ones I mentioned earlier) is homemade tuna (as in ‘chicken of the sea’ that comes in cans) and some other stuff that I cooked the same way. What you do is pretty simple --- [1] Place raw tuna/salmon/oyster or anything you think that’s yummy [2] Add water until all the ingredients are halfway covered [3] Add vegetable oil until all the ingredients are covered completely (add some herbs/spices too) [4] Cook in low heat until the water evaporates and the oil starts boiling (be sure to remove that yucky white/gray/yellow stuff floating on the surface). [5] Leave it until it’s room temp, and alas, you MADE your own tuna!
I hope you had better holiday season than I did...(sigh) Oh yeah, be sure to let me know what you did because I’ll read every word and make sure that I’ll have as much fun later this month!!!
