My childhood dream was to be a chess player. Surprisingly, I entered high school as a top-level student, because it just happened that I got a high score on the entrance exam. So, I was allowed to join the top class when I started in my new school. But I became the worst among the 44 students. After the mid-term and final exam, many of my friends stopped by my place to check my scores, and then they got motivated. I was somehow "a good person" who gave some inspiration to my friends in that way. Later, I found an interest in studying, then I rose to the top of the class. Because of that, I was selected as the Class President. But after getting a new pretty girlfriend, my school grades went down. Barely I could enter the university, so I spend most of my school days traveling the world instead. I already visited thirty countries.
When I was a freshman, I went to Greece. It was so good so I stayed longer than I used to plan even after starting the new semester. So, I got 40 messages from my mom on my phone. She was worried about my life, and she almost requested in the police station to apply for a search warrant for a missing person.
-Korea When I visited Korea, I stayed a cheap hotel for a while although it was dark inside. The receptionist was so nice and she taught me the Korean language sometimes. One day I said hello to the couple who was staying at the next door, but they just ignored my voice and ran away. It was very mysterious for me, but finally I found the reason why they did so. The hotel was a Korean Love hotel that couples mainly use to stay either overnight or for a few hours to do love things. Now I understand why the walls of the room were pink.
- Amsterdam, Netherlands When I visited Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, I was tricked by a German. He said that his wallet was stolen. So, he asked me if he could borrow some money. At that time, I could not trust him at all, but he showed his passport and gave me his phone number. Finally, I gave him about 600 dollars, but he never gave the money back on the date he promised to return. I reported the incident to the police, but the officer asked why Japanese people would trust foreigners so easily, because the same case also happened in the same city. Maybe we , Japanese, have not had much chance to see foreigners, so we trust others easily, especially the younger ones.
-Thailand By chance, a person who I asked for directions to downtown let me stay his house. It was just like a home stay like I was a high school student. I could feel the warmth of his family.
Title: A Sophomore After my return from New York, I got a message on the phone from my friend who was visiting India to learn yoga. The message just said, "Come visit India." It did not say anything where he was, but I had decided to go there with little of his clue. But it was a mistake. I could not meet him and I just had a stomachache because Indian food did not suit me.
