In Nio, Kagawa, there is a local snack called Takoban.
It looks like imagawayaki, a round Japanese pancake, but inside it is actually takoyaki.
The takoyaki is cooked using a large round mold, which makes it quite unique.

This snack has been around for a very long time.
When I was in elementary school, I remember it costing about 90 or 100 yen per piece.
That makes me smile now.
Today, a Takoban with egg costs only 250 yen, which is still very affordable.
For me, this is a nostalgic taste that brings back many childhood memories. The outside is soft and warm, and the inside is full of flavor.
One of my favorite ways to enjoy Takoban is to buy it and then walk to the nearby sea.
Eating it while looking at the ocean and feeling the breeze makes the day feel perfect.
