First of all: Let me place in English that I'd like to take occasion to place a condolence for earthquake disaster in Ecuador, and gratitude for supports for stricken area of earthquake disaster in Kumamoto and Ooita from various countries.
I've already lost habit to watch TV regularly, so now I learn about situation in the stricken area on radio, Internet and newspaper. Thanks to media, people can learn about situation in the stricken area, But it's nothing new that every time natural disaster occurs -not only earthquakes, press corps invite themselves to stricken area and cause trouble at the spot, which happened again this time. How is this earthquake disaster in Ecuador reported in this country and neighboring countries...?
It's too obvious and fundamental to mention, butwhat we require is not soppy disastrous stories. Survivors at the spot need information to protect themselves from various threat like secondary disasters, and to put their lives back in order. Other people want to learn the real situation in stricken area, what they can do to support survivors, and lessons so that they can prepare for natural disaster in their area. It can be going too far to say that they are in stricken area just to appeal themselves and their programs or mediums, not for the sake of survivors, But they cannot talk back against such deride, since they drown out announcement from community wireless system and survivors' cries for help with helicopter noise -which they did inKobeon Jan. 17, 1995, interview survivors impudently and forcibly, obstruct rescue, impose stereotyped set of values on viewers, blah-blah-blah... Superfluously;it is not always necessary to report how people who have derived pleasure from disaster in other countries are doing the similar things again, is it? Simply because it's as usual anyhow, and no one is so slack enough to hung up on them.
March 11
and that weekend, when every special TV program about 3.11 earthquake ended up in low ratings and there was a controversy whether people in our country have become cold-minded.
I don't watch TV unnecessarily from the beginning, But my parents told me that they watched one of those programs but turned off TV in short time because the same tsunami scenes were on screen on and on and unwatchable -so did several people around me. I approved with an opinion that we need not to watch TV to offer condolences for victims.
Instead of watching TV idly, let's work on reconstruction, regardless directly or indirectly.
One more thing: As well asafter 3.11 earthquake disaster, online indiscretion hunters infest again, who indulge in sense of justice by abusing even survivors and well-intention. I wish this sound demand were understood by them that they had better work on reconstruction if they are so slack, and they would be respected -But it seems no use. Then, how about asking them to attack panjandrums taking advantage of the confusion to deceive people if they have nothing else to do but to enjoy sense of justice by attacking someone else...?
