You cal also talk about a person who's good at spending very little money as a person who keeps a tight hold of the purse strings.
少ないお金を使って上手に買い物をする人について、財布のひもが固いといえます。
keep a tight hold of the purse strings 財布の紐が固い
tighten one's purse strings 財布のひもをしめる

=used to refer to the control of spending in a family, company, country etc
cost of living adjustment 生活費調整
shopping spree 買い物をしまくること
A similar word "binge" is used when it's an especially bad episode of whatever you're doing too much of.A spree is a little bit lighter, a little more enjoyable and fun.
しすぎること、何か悪いエピソードを言う時の同様の単語にbinge がある、
spreeはもう少し軽くて、楽しい感じがする。

=a street with no way out at one end,a situation from which no more progress is
possible
golden handshake/parachute 多額の退職金
=a large amount of money given to someone when they leave their job
