My Garden and Easy Leaf Mold Making
約3年前に小さな平屋を購入し、何もない小さな庭を手作りしてきました。
I bought a small one-story house about three years ago and have been creating a little garden from scratch.
ポイントは後々手入れが簡単ななるよう石畳風にしたこと。
The key point was making a stone pavement style so it would be easy to maintain later.
石は拾ったり貰ったりしてきたものです。石の隙間にはネットでまとめ買いした「玉竜」を植え込みました。
I collected the stones or got them from others. In the gaps between the stones, I planted Tamaryu (Dwarf Mondo Grass) which I bought in bulk online.
おかげで雑草も生えづらく、それらしい雰囲気になったと思います。
Thanks to this, weeds don't grow easily, and I think the garden looks nice.
I also bought and planted broadleaf trees: Shara (Stewartia) and Juneberry.

This is a Nishikigi (Burning Bush) that I grew from a cutting; it's three years old. I'm looking forward to it growing big and turning bright red!

Broadleaf trees with multiple trunks are very nice, but the fallen leaves 🍁 are a lot of work this season.
今は処分するにもダンボールに入れて普段のゴミに出せず、ビニール袋にいるしかないのですが、小枝も交じると直ぐに破けてしまい大変です。
Right now, I can't put the leaves out in the regular trash in cardboard boxes, and I have to use plastic bags. But it's hard because the bags tear easily when small twigs are mixed in.
そこで、落ち葉や雑草、小さな小枝等、みんなまとめて腐葉土にすることにしました。
So, I decided to turn all the fallen leaves, weeds, and small twigs into leaf mold.

集めた物に余っていた油かすと、刻んだバナナの皮を入れ、少しの水分を加え混ぜるだけです。
I just add leftover oilcake fertilizer and chopped banana peels to the collected leaves, add a little water, and mix.

Honestly, I don't know if it will work out, but I'm looking forward to next spring!
