テーマ： 今日聴いた音楽(78928)
名曲「Don't Break My Heart Again」のアンサーソングと評され
たにも関わらず、日米盤には載らなかったこちらも隠れた名曲。
Whitesnake
ゲイリー・ムーアの影響が強いと言われたジョン・サイクスが
強烈なソロを披露しており、日本人の感覚からはゲイリーの方
がバンドに合っている感じがしますが、サイクスのこの強烈さ
がアメリカ市場を強襲したからこその大成功に繋がったと思い
ます。
その強襲するソロはゲイリーの影響が分かるもので、エゴとエ
ネルギーが溢れた２０代のギタリストとしては上質な大人の魅
ということではないでしょうか。
来月新譜がでる予定のWHITESNAKEでは、また別の方向に向かっ
て影響を感じさせるダグ・アルドリッチが頑張っていますが、
皮肉にもアメリカ人としては地味なダグと典型的なアメリカ人
のレブを丁度足し合わせたようなギタープレイになれば、ゲイ
リー２人分のツインギターになってこの曲を上回る素晴らしい
アリーナになるだろうと期待しています。
