０ー０で迎えた６回裏、先頭打者岩田幸宏。堀田投手の初球、外角のチェンジアップをセンターを抜いて長打コース。浅野が処理にあせり、もたつくのを尻目に、岩田は走りまくり３塁に余裕で到達。

続くサンタナが三振、１アウトランナー３塁の場面で茂木栄五郎。堀田投手の４球目、ど真ん中のストレートを右中間スタンドへ第４号２ランホームランを放つ。

これが決勝打となり、ヤクルトは２－１で勝利。このカードを勝ち越す。

In the bottom of the sixth inning, with the score at 0-0, Yukihiro Iwata is the leadoff batter. Pitcher Hotta's first pitch is a changeup on the outside corner that goes past center field for a long hit. Asano is in a hurry to handle it, Iwata runs hard and easily reaches third base.

Santana strikes out next, and with one out and a runner on third, Eigoro Mogi hits his fourth home run, a straight shot down the middle from pitcher Hotta, into the right-center field stands.

This is the deciding hit, and Yakult wins 2-1. They take the lead in this series.
