【As Earth's Family】④~We Are All Members of the Earth Family~
Today's humans wound my body, Earth, by polluting the oceans, rivers, and atmosphere, and by poisoning our food. They even defile the very flow of water, Gaia's lifeblood. In response, I am deeply grateful and heartened that some have risen up, asking, “Is there nothing we can do? Save the Earth!” and declaring, “We must not pollute the environment called Earth.”
However, while global warming is being sounded and water pollution on Earth pointed out, it seems the understanding remains that solving the CO₂ problem alone will suffice. I find this deeply regrettable. What caused this situation? Have you ever considered it?
As I've been saying, your physical bodies, the animals and plants you share life with, all living things—they have been nurtured within the environment we call Earth, within the flow of love. We are all connected, a family of this planet Earth striving to live together.
This lack of love, this deficiency in understanding, is what creates CO₂, causes global warming, pollutes the Earth's waters, and taints the very source of life.
This causes suffering for both me and Gaia, but the greatest suffering is surely yours, humanity, more than ours. Is that not so?
Poison enters your food and drinking water; you breathe air so polluted it feels suffocating; continents, homes, and land are lost to warming. Who is responsible for making the creatures of the Arctic and Antarctic unable to live there?
Is it not because you lack the awareness that you are members of this planetary family I have nurtured? Acting selfishly without love, strangling yourselves, suffering the most—is that not humanity today?
I too am certainly suffering. But do you know that for a parent, seeing their children suffering there is far more painful than any injury to their own body? Is it enough to merely say superficial things, like avoiding CO2 emissions and global warming? I do not believe so.
Unless we return to the heart of love—as children of God, as family living on God's planet, as members of the great cosmos—sharing, supporting, thanking, and sustaining each other as energies of gratitude and love—such events will continue. Each time, we ourselves are wounded most deeply, forced to perish again and again.
Please do not show your parents such a sight again and again. How many times must we witness our children perishing, suffering and dying?
