Noel has stated that the song is
about musicians who use their position in music to become
"the voice of a generation,"
like yesterday's Bono of U2 or today's Kanye West
It's basically about people who think they're the voice of a generation,
or the figurehead of a movement. It's just saying,
'Why are you lot down here looking up at him?'
This band is about the music; it's about the songs. It's not about us.
I wouldn't ever make a political speech,
and I'd sack anyone in a band who started doing that.
We are overtly political once every five years,
when we all go out and vote Labour.
But then we turn around and go back to being a band again.

ノエルに聞いてみてくれって頼んでたんだけど、
マットは冗談めかした口調で聞いたのに、

リハーサル中にあのギターリフを思いついたんだ。
『Taxman』みたいな感じを狙ってね。
ノエルが家に持ち帰って、
次の日には完成した曲を持ってきてくれた。
ヒートン・パーク公演が中止になってしまって残念だよ。
リアムはセットリストに入れるつもりだったんじゃないかな。
なんで中止？と思って調べてみたら、
そうか…この時期はちょうどコロナが……

ビートルズにこんな曲があったことを全く知りませんでした
ほんとビートルズまともに通ってないんですよ……申し訳ないです
