I came to know her book when I was searching a book to read on Amazon.com, the site told me her book may interest me as long as I like Robin Cook's book. "Vanish" is a detective story filled with medical examiner's involvement. Tess's way of telling the stories is very clever. Several monologues of a teen smuggled from Russia seeking a New World but only finds a hell filled with enemy of women, a medical examiner finding a corpse waking up in the morgue, a mama-to-be cop trapped in a hostage during a radiologic exam before laboring a child, all go tangling and finally tapered into one thread. Wording is rather easy to read and guide you to cover to cover. She portraited woman characters vividly and shows inside of their minds. Could be a good guide to know woman minds.
