Performance

If it seems as though the 2012 Daihatsu Terios 7seater Crossover SUV is in a class all on its own, that is because it is. The small and efficient petrol engine offers a little extra power to spare. The 1.5-liter DVVT engine delivers 77kW and a maximum torque of 140n.M.

There is a significant amount of torque supported at low and mid rpms, but there is also impressive acceleration to be enjoyed at high rpms. It does not matter if you are traveling in the city, cruising at high speeds or venturing off-road, you will appreciate an exciting and comfortable ride.

What is unique about this vehicle is that it boasts full-time four-wheel drive with a center differential lock. Whether you are on a horribly rutted road or in thick mud, switch on the differential with the press of a button and the front and rear wheels are directly connected for better traction.

Technology

• Multi Info Display: The display on the dash provides you with information you may need to enjoy outdoor activity. It includes the outside temperature, average fuel consumption, mode switch, maximum traveling range and an ice warning, for when temperatures dip and roads become slippery.
• MP3: An auxiliary audio jack input lets you connect your MP3 player to enjoy all your favorite tunes.
• Audio: A simple and practical yet decent audio system will entertain you while on the road. It includes a CD player, clock and six speakers.
• Dual Air Conditioner: Why should one passenger be too cold or hot to accommodate the other? This dual air conditioner is designed to offer optimal comfort to all passengers.

Safety

The 2012 Daihatsu Tarios 7seater has been thoughtfully designed to provide all passengers in the cabin with the highest level of safety. Disc brakes ensure optimal performance, especially since they are paired up with an antilock braking system and electronic brakeforce distribution.

To protect occupants, the front and rear have been given crushable structures. The design disperses impact energy throughout the frame of the body. Just a few of the many safety features to appreciate include:

• Two airbags
• Fog lamps
• Side mirrors indicators
• Seatbelt warning signal

Appearance

There is a lot to love about the fun exterior of the Terios 7seater. It is youthful yet modern all at the same time. A friendly front fascia and grille highlight the deep sunken headlamps in the front while the view from the back shows off a body colored spare tire holder and rear spoiler. From the side you notice how everything is harmonic with body colored door handles, and then roof racks and sporty wheels offer the finishing touch.

Comfort

The interior is fairly simple, but there is an awful lot of space in it. The square, tall and upright body directly translates to a lot of space. This means that a tall passenger can sit in one of the rear seats and not worry about their head grazing the ceiling on bumps.

The black dashboard would be fairly utilitarian if it weren’t for the pseudo-metallic plastic inserts tossed in here-and-there, especially on the door trim and center console.

Cargo

There is not a ton of cargo space in the Terios 7seater with all seats in place, but you will appreciate that the floor to the luggage compartment is only about 25 inches from the ground, making it easy to load and unload.

The seats can be configured a number of ways based on the cargo you need to carry. Fold part of the 60/40 seat or go ahead and fold the entire rear seat and fit a 26-inch mountain bike back there with no problem.
