Though sport utility vehicles are known to be similar in many aspects in terms of performance, power, and appearance, some differ significantly from the rest. For example, the 2012 GMC Yukon SUV makes a serious statement on the road, and packs a powerful punch with its standard and upgraded engines.

The 2012 GMC Yukon SUV is now even more refined, and offers a great list of features. The roomy interior and host of amenities enable and promote a comfortable driving experience. This vehicle combines an elegant interior and excellent cargo space making it ideal for long and short hauls alike. The one complaint drivers have in regards to cargo space though is that the third row seat does not fold down completely. If you need to utilize that space, you have to remove the seat completely and store it somewhere.

The base engine of the 2012 GMC Yukon SUV is a 5.3-liter V-8 that delivers 320 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. This is a rear-wheel drive standard, paired up with a six-speed transmission that can accelerate zero to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds while returning 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. Buyers are also granted the option to go straight to the bigger 6.2-liter V8 engine that can produce 403 horsepower. This engine is available for the XL and Denali models. A quick look at the vehicle will reveal tough construction; this should be expected, as it weighs 5500 pounds. You may also like to know that properly equipped, it can tow up to 8,400 pounds.

The tough construction and stance of the SUV is softened and complemented with the features found in the interior. GMC paid attention to the details of the interior with the perfect use of sleek and refined materials. You will appreciate how simple and thoughtful the layout of controls is when you don't have to take your eyes off the road to find anything. The different seating configurations enable the Yukon SUV to easily accommodate five to nine passengers, however the number depends on the trim model selected. On the subject of trim levels, there are three basic trims offered on the 2012 GMC Yukon SUV- the SLE, SLT, and the top of the line Denali. The SLE trim offers potential buyers what they should expect from the basic trim model including, but not limited to, full power accessories and tri-zone air conditioning. Shoppers can choose between the 4WD and the 2WD for the SLT and the SLE trims.
