There are only two trims available on the Honda Element SUV , the LX and the EX. The LX is the base model that costs less and has the least amount of features. The EX would be the premium model that has more to offer. It will, however, come at a higher price.
The LX Trim of the Honda Element SUV starts off with a complete set of steel wheels. It adds features that are typically standard like cruise control, power accessories and air conditioning. There is also a tilting steering wheel, keyless entry and driver seat with adjustable height. The rear seats both fold and remove and the utility floor is made with urethane. The sound system is modest with only four speakers and a CD player. Most crossovers come with more extensive features even on the base model, so from that standpoint the Element is lacking once again.
A move up to the EX trim doesn't expand the feature list by much. The wheels are changed to alloy as a start. There is a center console added that has a removable cooler/storage box. Audio controls are put on the steering wheel and the audio system is updated dramatically. With this trim is boasts seven speakers, an auxiliary jack and satellite radio. There is also a Dog Friendly package that throws in a kennel in the rear with a pet bed and ramp. The seat covers have a dog pattern, the floor mats are changed to all-season, a spill proof water bowl is added and there is also an electric fan and bag dispenser included.
Safety is important and the Honda Element SUV includes just what is needed to ensure that drivers are safe. There are antilock disc brakes, brake assist, stability control, traction control, front head restraints and airbags for the front side and the full length curtain. There are no additional safety features where most crossovers include optional cameras and parking assist features.
The Honda Element SUV has plenty of perks that has kept it around and doing well for the time it has. Owners enjoy a smooth ride, adequate handling and ample cargo space. The downside is that it comes with a shortage of passenger room and a less than impressive speed and power. Those who enjoy the Element really enjoy it. Those who do not would be better suited to one of the many other crossovers on the market.
