Performance

There is only one engine available in the 2013 Infiniti EX SUV Crossover , but it sure is a good one. This vehicle is motivated by a 3.7-liter V6 that is combined with a standard seven-speed automatic to deliver 325 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Acceleration speeds are quite impressive, taking only 6 seconds to reach 60 mph. The EX is standard as a rear-wheel drive vehicle, but all-wheel drive is available. What is most disappointing about EX s fuel economy, as it returns only 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway as a rear-wheel drive. Opting for all-wheel drive reduces these numbers by 1 mpg. The 2013 Infiniti EX handles itself quite well, thanks to its Front Midship platform that centers the weight of the vehicle, allowing it to remain balanced around curves while providing quick steering response. Plus, the turning circle is a meager 34.8 feet, which means maneuvering and parking in tight spaces will definitely not be a problem.

Technology

• Audio - Those looking for the best music experience will want to upgrade to the 11-speaker Bose® audio system that comes with a 7-inch display, CD player, USB audio interface and auxiliary audio jack.
• Navigation - The Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System is fantastic. The high resolution screen does support BirdView™ perspective and offers enhanced three-dimensional graphics. It works seamlessly with SiriusXM® and Zagat Survey® Restaurant Guide.
• Around View Monitor - This feature uses four exterior cameras to provide you with a 360-degree view of your surroundings. If you do happen to get too close to something, it will give you warning.

Safety

When tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Infiniti EX received top safety scores in roof, front and side-impact crash tests. Braking is just as impressive, taking only 118 feet to stop from 60 mph. There are an impressive number of safety features both standard and optional, including:
• Forward collision warning
• Intelligent brake assist
• Lane departure warning
• Traction control
• Tire pressure monitoring
• Remote anti-theft alarm system
• Child seat anchors
• Engine immobilizer
• Emergency interior trunk release
• Electronic brakeforce distribution
• Emergency braking assist
• Rear door safety locks

Appearance

One of the highlights of the EX is its sleek styling that most will either love or hate. It essentially has the body of a hatchback, which does provide a great amount of versatility. It is not overdone, yet it has enough shining moments to be interesting, two of which are the chrome roof rails and eye-catching wheels.

Comfort

The cabin has its ups and downs. The styling is fantastic but it is definitely not the most spacious vehicle you can buy. That exaggerated sloped roof does compromise headroom, and legroom is certainly not all that generous in the rear seat. The front seats are plush yet supportive and the driver really is granted a great view of the road. “Posh” is the word used to describe the styling, and that really does sum it up. It is classy, yet modern and hip at the same time. Supple leather is complemented by either maple wood or genuine aluminum accents. The information display is large and easy to read, and controls are intuitive and within reach.

Cargo

Do not buy the EX if you need cargo space; you won’t find it here. Behind the rear seat, you only get 18.cubic feet and total capacity is a measly 47.4 cubes.
