What is there to say about the 2012 Landrover Range Rover that hasn't been said in the past? Simply put, you won't find a vehicle with better off-road capabilities that offers such a luxurious ride. That being said, you certainly pay for it in the price tag. This is a vehicle that is distinguished in styling, but many feel it is just too boring. The interior is comfortable and sophisticated with plenty of room for all passengers, but when compared to others, it falls short in cargo space.

The 2012 Landrover Range Rover is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that is paired up with a six-speed automatic transmission. The HSE trim produces 375 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque, but only returns 12 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, which is relatively bad for this class. However, considering this is a full-time four-wheel drive vehicle, it is easy to understand why fuel-economy suffers. Those opting for the Supercharged trim will enjoy the same engine, only as the name implies, it is supercharged to boast 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque. This vehicle is capable of accelerating zero to 60 mph in a lightning fast 5.5 seconds, which is remarkable for a vehicle of this size and weight.

As mentioned, off-road capabilities are phenomenal. The four-wheel independent suspension provides a smooth ride for all passengers, despite what type of terrain you are traveling on. Speaking of terrain, the Terrain Response system allows you to customize the suspension, powertrain and stability and traction control to complement your current terrain, whether that is snow, mud, rocks, grass, etc. This gives drivers a great amount of control. Also, a properly equipped Range Rover and safely tow up to 7,700 pounds.

The 2012 Landrover Range Rover comes packed full of safety features. Just a few of these include four-wheel Abs, child seat anchors, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency braking assist, tire pressure monitoring, engine immobilizer, a whiplash protection system in the front head restraints, stability and traction control, dusk sensing headlamps, emergency braking preparation, post-collision safety system and Xenon high intensity discharge headlamps.

It doesn't matter if you are climbing the side of a mountain or wading through 2-feet of water to get to your destination, the Range Rover will get you there. Considering it weighs nearly 3 tons, it provides drivers with a great feeling of stability, yet the steering is surprisingly responsive. Its wide-ranging wheel articulation paired up with high-ground clearance makes it a leader in its class.
