The 2012 Toyota Sequoia crossover SUV comes in three variations- the SR5 which is the base version, the Limited edition and the top of the range Platinum version.

The SR5 standard features include keyless entry, tilting and telescoping steering wheel, cloth upholstery, power adjustable driver seat, power heated mirrors, power windows, power locks, power controllable rear window, cruise control, tri-zone air conditioning, eight-speaker AM/FM/CD/XM audio system with iPod compatibility, reclining and folding seats for the second and third rows with the second row being in a 40/20/40 format and the third row 60/40, rear spoiler and rounded off with 18-inch alloy wheels with P275/65R18 all terrain tires and an underbody spare.

Other optional extras for the SR5 include bucket seats for the second row, which will provide more comfort, whilst reducing maximum seating to seven, an eye catching black fabric interior trim with color-keyed sport grille and rear spoiler, fog lamps, and matching 20-inch alloy wheels. If that's not enough, Toyota also offer their premier package which elevates all of the seating to real leather, with heated front seats and the option of a power folding operation for the third row of seats, as well as a rear camera- a 3.5-inch display built into the rear-view mirror to handle awkward reverse maneuvers.

The next Sequoia on the totem pole is the Limited edition that comes with upgrades on the SR5 with heated ten way power adjustable leather trimmed seats, with matching gearshift knob. The dashboard comes with a multi- feature information display containing Optitron gauges, moonroof , power folding mirrors and to add the finishing touch 20-inch wheels with P275/55R20 all terrain tires. Optional extras include second row bucket seats in place of the bench seat as well as a DVD entertainment system to keep the rear seat passengers amused.

The Platinum version is very much top of the tree as far as finish standards are concerned. To begin with, as well as most of the upgrades on the Limited edition coming as standard on this version of the Toyota Sequoia, the Platinum is a maximum seven seater as standard, with the middle row bench seat replaced by heated bucket seats and a center console, power adjustable steering column and power adjustable heated and air conditioned driver and front passenger seats.

Safety features on all version takes in front airbags, side impact airbags for front passengers, and side air curtain airbags for both the front and rear seats.

Fuel consumption for the 2012 Toyota Sequoia crossover SUV 4.6 liter automatic version,, according to the US EPA, averages at 25 miles per gallon in two wheel drive, with 14 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles per gallon on the open road being reported in most reviews. The 5.7 liter automatic version, according to the US EPA, averages at 15 miles per gallon in two wheel drive, with 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 miles per gallon on the highway.

Toyota developed the Sequoia around their vision of a SUV that would carry a lot of people and/or a lot of baggage on the open road, and in comfort. Within this framework the Toyota Sequoia succeeds entirely in producing outstanding results according to almost every review you will find.
