When speaking of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe, one is referring to serious racing business. Pretty much all the equipment and technologies that make up the vehicle are geared towards reducing fuel consumption, while increasing the top speed and providing better control. All of these factors result in reducing overall weight by using lightweight yet durable materials.

For 2012, those who want a coupe that comes standard with style and performance, the BMW 1 Series M Coupe is a perfect fit. This coupe is powered by a N54-series twin-turbo inline-6 engine that turns the car from a stagnant hunk of metal to a soaring achievement of automotive engineering. Sure, we've all seen this engine in the Z4 Roadster, but it is completely different when placed in this keenly tuned chassis. In 4.9 seconds, the car sprints from zero to 60 mph. it offers fantastic brake performance, exceptional throttle response and exquisite steering precision. This is a vehicle that winding mountain roads were made for, as it hugs each and every curve like it's traveled them a hundred times before.

Safety is an important aspect in every vehicle, and the BMW 1 Series M Coupe certainly does not disappoint. Drivers and passengers will appreciate airbags at the front and rear and curtains for splinter protection. Not to mention, the exceptional braking ability is due to the compound disc brakes in the both the front and rear.

When it comes to performance, the transmission system of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe comes in a 6-speed manual transmission. Fortunately, BMW is one manufacturer that understands that many drivers prefer the control that a manual transmission offers. This couple is also surprisingly fuel-efficient, thanks to something as simple as the brake system that boasts BMW's Brake Energy Regeneration that allows the car's alternator to still generate electricity while coasting. In terms of safety, this BMW has incorporated adaptive headlights and a rain sensor into standard features, which includes automatic headlight activation. Many accidents occur at dusk when drivers have been on the road for a while and simply forget to turn the headlamps on; this coupe reduces those risks. The lighting system is also impressive, featuring xenon headlights for high and low beams. It even allows the car to automatically adjust the headlights accordingly to its backdrop. The navigation system features an 8.8-inch colored display in high resolution, which is well-suited for delivering a live three-dimensional map in a bird's view perspective. The car even comes with its own hard disk to store maps and audio data.
