Starting at $35,345, and with a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) in the luxury car category, the CTS Sport Sedan might be hailed as the cheap and safe alternative in the mid-sized luxury car division. However, upon further exploration it may be best described as the top tier luxury car that refuses to sacrifice beauty and performance for safety and economy. The CTS Sport Sedan blends design with technology so as to speak to enthusiasts and luxury aficionados alike. Offering a standard direct injection 3.0L, 270 HP V6 engine and the power it provides, coupled with an Exterior design that focuses on cornering capability and improved nighttime visibility the CTS Sport Sedan very much sets the pace for affordable luxury.

Since the introduction of the '03 model, the CTS Sedan has been important to Cadillac's success, as it continues to sway new customers away from imports and establish loyalty among Cadillac owners. N?rburgring, a German Formula 1 race track, is where the Cadillac CTS Sport Sedan underwent an "Intensive fine-tuning program". Alongside the standard engine, a 3.6L 318 HP performance V-6 is also offered. Fuel economy is retained despite delivering about 5 percent more horsepower than the 2011 model. One can expect to get an EPA-estimated mileage of 18 in the city and 27 out.

In comparison to its more expensive counterparts from BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus, the Cadillac CTS Sport Sedan seems like a more reasonable barrier to entry in the luxury sedan market. Although costing 5 to 10 thousand less, the CTS Sport Sedan still manages to keep up with, and in some areas surpass, its rivals in both horsepower and torque, all while making a visual statement unique to the Cadillac family.

Safety is a cornerstone to the design of the Cadillac CTS Sport Sedan. From its pushed out wheels for better handling on the road, to its use of high technology, such as a panoramic backup camera displayed in the rearview mirror, and adaptive lighting, which swivels the headlamps up enhancing nighttime vision, Cadillac obviously does not place safety in the back seat. Other features include; Front, side, seat, and roof airbags for driver and front passenger, a tire pressure monitoring system, rollover protection technology, and high strength steel throughout the structure.

As previously stated, the CTS Sport Sedan was given a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS. The tests for Frontal Offset Collision, Side Impact, and Roof Strength, all received the highest "G" (Good) rating. The Rear Crash Protection test which assesses the level of occupant protection against neck injury in rear impacts is gauged with a two-step evaluation. This test, based on seat/head restraint geometry, is extremely important for even as such injuries usually aren't serious they tend to occur more frequently. The CTS Sport Sedan also scored a "G" on this test.
