Based on the 599 series, the 2011 Ferrari SA Aperta Convertible celebrates the 80th birthday of Ferrari partner Pininfarina, which is the company responsible for the production of an elite lineup of the world's most commendable Ferraris since the 1950s . The SA is named after the founders of the business, Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina, who are the honorary chairman of Pininfarina and the grandson of the founder respectively. One of the things that makes this vehicle is so desirable is the fact that only 80 were made, so it is certainly not one that is easy to get your hands on. With a mind-boggling top speed of 208 miles per hour, the 6.3-liter V-12 engine produces 660 horsepower and 608 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with an F1 Superfast six-speed transmission, which complements the driving experience nicely by shifting far faster than a human possibly could. The vehicle accelerates zero to 60 in a brisk 3.1 seconds, and that is something to get pretty excited about.

In order to make the change from 599 GTO coupe design to convertible, the windshield of the Ferrari SA Aperta Convertible has been shortened and new rollover protections have been extended to reach behind the headrest of the front passengers. This change has also lowered the seats and strengthened the chassis while lowering the center of gravity. This all adds to the brilliant response and feel of the car on the road. The structure of the chassis is stiffer, and Ferrari insists that the convertible top does not substantially increase its overall weight. This is possible because, unlike other convertibles, the roof is only a soft, light top meant for emergency use, for example during a rainstorm. Of course, with this engine, you may be able to outdrive the raindrops. The vehicle is also significantly lighter because it features an abundance of carbon fiber components, thereby helping with overall speed.

As with other vehicles from this prestigious line, it offers plenty of safety features. Four-wheel ABS brakes, stability and traction control, engine immobilizer, dusk sensing headlamps, electronic brakeforce distribution and rear par assist are all standard. Optional safety features are also available, such as a fire extinguisher, front parking camera with dual view, rear parking camera and front parking sensors. The 2011 Ferrari SA Aperta Convertible has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
