The features available on the Ford Transit Connect EV Electric Van will not win it any awards. As a fully electric van it does not have the power or capabilities to run a number of the technologically rich features that exist in other vehicles. However, those that want an environmentally friendly vehicle that saves on fuel and oil will find the lack of features acceptable. This is especially true considering it is a work van and those are often not feature rich to begin with.

It does boast 15 inch steel wheels on a frame that is designed with steel. The rear bumper is also made with steel. The Ford Transit Connect EV Electric Van boasts a gearbox, electric power steering and power brakes as part of the mechanics. Inside there is air conditioning and heat, bucket seats with cloth upholstery and a center console. The steering wheel offers tilting and telescoping and there is dome lighting. An overhead shelf with net offer added storage. Safety features include a tire pressure monitoring system, AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control and air bags. There are rear fog lights and daytime running lights. The body features dual sliding side doors and a rear door with privacy glass. Options include privacy glass on the side door, rear cargo doors and a rearview camera.

The Ford Transit Connect EV Electric Van is an industry leader. As the first all electric work van designed for the small business it boasts the benefit of an eco-friendly badge for drivers. That said, the cost savings are not necessarily present for quite some time. Even at the rate of fuel being high, it would take an extremely long time and a lot of mileage to make up for the extra cost of the van. At almost three times the price of the gasoline powered Connect it might be more beneficial to choose that model. It is fairly fuel efficient and so much lower priced that it is worth paying for the gas.

It is also important to remember that the Ford Transit Connect EV Electric Van is not designed for those that commute long distances in a day. It will go only 80 miles on a charge and the location for charging should be central to the area where the van is being used. Short distances and city driving are where the Connect EV will shine and show its efficiency the most.
