There are two different trims that one can select from on the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe. They are the base trim and the EX. As expected the EX will have the most features that come standard while the base will be the lowest priced. Neither is seriously lacking in features and that is one thing that the CR-Z has going for it. When it comes to features it is right on par with others in the class.

The base trim of the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe begins with a set of 16 inch wheels in alloy. Add to that full power on the inside, a keyless entry system, hill-start assist and cruise control and the features have just begun. There is also climate control, a cloth interior, a driver seat that adjusts in height and a steering wheel that tilts and telescopes. It is topped off with a cargo cover and a sound system with six speakers, CD, and iPod interface.

Those who opt for the EX trim of the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe will have even more standard features to brag about. These include xenon headlamps, foglamps, mirrors that are heated, metallic trim, a steering wheel wrapped in leather and Bluetooth. The audio system is upgraded to seven speakers as well. Of course there are also optional features for the EX. A navigation system is the biggest of these. However, there is also the option to increase the wheels, add special tires and put satellite radio in the audio system.

When it comes to safety, the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe has the bases covered. Antilock brakes, stability control, traction control and head restraints are all part of the standard safety gear. There is also the addition of airbags on the front sides and the side curtains. No additional optional safety equipment is available on either trim.

Those who want a hybrid with a more sporty appearance might find that the Honda CR-Z Hybrid Coupe is attractive to them. The problem lies with the cars ability to handle either job. It doesn't boast the power and style to match up with the sports coupes on the market, and the hybrid feature can be outdone easily virtually every competitor. In fact, the fuel economy is outmatched by select non-hybrids. The CR-Z is definitely a unique car all on its own, but owning it will not offer anything spectacular.
