More Used Jaguar Coupe Reviews / All Jaguar Cars

Jaguar has given the all-new 2012 Jaguar XKR Coupe a fresh new look on the front and rear of the car with new LED running lights, contemporary headlamps and an oval grille. The XKR may not match up to its XT and XF Jaguar model siblings, but it has been designed with some pretty special features. Jaguar has constructed the XKR with as much aluminum as possible, which decreases the weight substantially. This allows the vehicle to be more responsive and faster, incredibly composed and takes corners at high speeds. Regardless of speed, the ride remains smooth as the XKR features an automatic adjusted suspension that prioritizes ride handling and comfort based on the precise situation that the vehicle is in at that very second.

Jaguar designed the XKR with all of the base features that come on the XK, but it also has many more new and improved features added to it. The XKR gets a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine under the hood allowing for faster acceleration with maximum speed. The XKR's supercharged engine provides 510 horsepower and 461 pound-feet of torque, but fuel-economy definitely suffers, as it returns only around 15 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. The XKR has been said to have the same acceleration as some of the world's leading sports cars, so it can certainly hold its own off the line. The XKR also comes with a sportier interior, firmer suspension, aluminum mesh grilled, larger front brakes and the ability to shut the stability control completely off, for drivers who enjoy a little more control behind the wheel.

There are a couple of different packages that can be added to the XKR; these include the Dynamic package and the Black package. The Dynamic package puts the XKR up on 20-inch wheels, with a larger rear wing, red brake calipers, a rear aero diffuser, a rocker sill extension, and a newly revised suspension. The Black package also bums the wheels on the XKR up on 20 inches, and equips the Coupe with black trim instead of chrome, along with a larger rear spoiler, and a front aero splitter.

Standard safety features include a pre-collision safety system, emergency interior trunk release, turn signal mirrors, cornering lights, engine immobilizer, child seat anchors, tire pressure monitoring, emergency braking assist and a whiplash protection system in the front head restraints.
