Drivers have found that the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Coupe Convertible gives them exactly what they wanted in a convertible sports coupe. It offers a driving experience that is not unlike the one found in the traditional Eclipse. The handling of the vehicle is superb and it gives drivers the ability to enjoy the thrills that can be found out on the road while still having the simplicity and security of a consistent daily driver. Another popular point with the Spyder is the appearance. It offers a sleek design both outside and inside. The sporty look attracts those that want a little more out of their coupe and the interior offers plenty of room in the front seats for the driver and passenger. Though it has four passenger seating, there is little leg or headroom in the backseat. That ensures that backseat passengers, other than children, will not be comfortable on long trips. However, the front seats offer plenty of space and comfort and the controls give a stylish look to an affordable coupe. The ability of a V6 engine adds to the appeal and the many features make it well worth the ticket price.

When it comes to choosing a trim on the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Coupe Convertible, the decision will come to down to which features, engine and transmission one is looking for. The GS Sport is the least expensive, and least powerful, trim of the Spyder and contains only a 162 hp 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. The GS Sport also has a five speed manual transmission, 18 inch alloy wheels, standard air conditioning, full power features, heated leather front seats , rearview camera, Bluetooth and an exceptional Rockford Fosgate audio system. The GT trim boasts a stronger engine with 265 hp 3.8 liter V6, but it only has a five speed automatic transmission available. In addition to the features on the GS Sport, the GT offers a sport tuned suspension, foglights, xenon headlights, leather upholstery, climate control and a wind deflector.

For the final production of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Coupe Convertible, an SE trim was released alongside an SE trim of the standard Eclipse. This special version for 2012 features a 283 hp 3.8 liter V6 engine and automatic transmission. The SE offers an exterior that has been revised for this model, special SE decaling, 18 inch dark alloy wheels and many of the features found on the other trims of Spyder. There will be no new version of the Spyder or standard Eclipse as production ceased in August of 2011 and the final car came off the assembly line at the end of August to be auctioned off for charity.
