The two trims available on the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sedan are the GSR and the MR. There are many features that come standard with the Evo regardless of which trim one should select. Each model will feature sports seats and an automatic climate control. Drivers will also benefit from cruise control and a CD player that has the ability to work with MP3. The Evo X even comes standard with FUSE hands free systems for controlling cell phones and iPods while driving.

Safety has always been a priority with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sedan and that is why safety features on the Evo are top of the line. Both trims of the Evo come with a stability and traction control to make driving a little less risky. The all wheel drive comes with four wheel anti-lock brakes to ensure that drivers stop each and every time they need to. There are even anti-whiplash front head restraints. A monitor to measure tire pressure will ensure safer driving and front-side impact, overhead curtain and driver knee airbags work together to ensure that drivers and passengers are safe in the event that the worst scenario were to happen. Both trims of the Evo have a standard 2.0 liter 4 cylinder 291 horsepower engine and all wheel drive to boost performance capabilities. However, there are distinct differences between the trims that showcase which drivers will benefit from which one.

Most notably, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sedan GSR has a more aggressive suspension system that is sport tuned. It also features a five speed manual transmission. In addition, owners will find that the GSR boasts such features as Brembo disc brakes, a rear wing spoiler and 18 inch aluminum wheels and performance tires. While some of this is also available on the MR, there are some alterations between models. The MR has a softer suspension system than the GSR counterpart. The MR boasts Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks and forged aluminum wheels. The transmission for the MR is a Twin-Cluth Sportronic Shift. The transmission has a manual mode that features six speeds and paddle shifters, or it can function as an automatic when not in manual mode. The MR adds even more style by offering HID head lamps and trading in the rear spoiler for a more discrete lip spoiler.

The one area that the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sedan seems to resemble its early inspiration is inside the vehicle. The controls look much like what one would find in the economy Lancer. While drivers will still see functionality from the interior, there are many ways that it could be improved to showcase the higher class of the Evo. All in all, the Evo is a high performance vehicle that rivals those in a much higher price range.
