The Mitsubishi Lancer sedan is available in DE, ES, SE, GT and Ralliart trim levels, which offers more than enough choices and price options for any driver's needs. The base model DE is equipped with 16 inch wheels, automatic headlights, a tilt steering wheel, all power accessories, am onboard trip computer and a 4 speaker sound system with a CD player. The DE is one of the few base models still being sold without air conditioning. The ES comes with all the above features and also includes chrome exterior accents all the way around the car, air-conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, a thick cloth upholstery, a rear seat with a 60/40 design, both row armrests, an adjustable driver seat, steering-wheel audio controls and an auxiliary audio jack. The Alloy Wheel package can be added to include 16 inch alloy wheels to the ES trim as well as rear disc brakes to replace the rear drums and a rear stabilizer bar.

The SE trim offers a far more powerful engine, all-wheel drive and the Alloy Wheel package. The GT is similar to the SE, but is front-wheel-drive only and adds 18-inch alloy wheels, fog-lamps, a sportier front fascia, a rear spoiler, remote ignition and door locks, automatic 2 zone climate control, upgraded sports interior, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and knob shifter, auto-dimming rearview mirror, a rearview camera for parking and safety while backing up, the Fuse voice activated built-in electronics interface, a color driver information display, wireless Bluetooth technology and a six-speaker sound system with an MP3 auxiliary jack.

The all-wheel-drive Mitsubishi Lancer sedan Ralliart ramps up the performance with a turbocharged engine, an automated dual-clutch manual transmission, hill-start assist, front and rear limited slip differential, additional high-tech sport exterior additions, a finely tuned sport suspension, a sport steering wheel, upgraded patterned upholstery, aluminum gas and brake pedals and SIRIUS satellite radio.

Some of these features are also available on lower trim car models as stand alone options or with additional packages. Several aesthetic and aerodynamic enhancement options are also available for the DE and ES trims.

A Touring package is also available for GT and Ralliart trim models only, and features automatic xenon headlights, a moon/sunroof, a smaller sportier rear spoiler, automatic rain sensor wipers, leather seating and a 9 speaker sound system from Rockford Fosgate with a built-in 6 CD changer and SIRIUS satellite radio. Also available on GT and Ralliart trim models is an onboard navigation system that includes a 40GB hard drive that can easily play music files and a rearview camera monitor that has been relocated to the touchscreen display instead of the rearview mirror. A newly available Deluxe package for the SE trim model adds most of the GT's interior upgrades, along with soft touch door trim panels.

The Mitsubishi Lancer sedan DE and ES models feature a 2.0-liter engine equipped with variable valve timing and 5 speed manual transmission, making it a fun car to drive, as well as fuel efficient. Although with just 148 horsepower, the DE and ES are often lacking in acceleration.

The Ralliart features a GTS suspension and GTS brakes alongside speed-rated tires from Yokohama. It comes equipped with a 2.0-liter intercooled engine with turbocharging that is made with aluminum, packing a massive 237 horsepower. There is only one transmission to find in the 6-speed Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift option. This TC-SST transmission option is really a uniquely designed manual transmission that does not feature a pedal for the clutch. This twin clutch design is now the most common method for the shifting of manual transmissions without the need of a third pedal. Many are built by the German auto maker Getrag, but Mitsubishi builds its own, making it perfectly integrated with the Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.
