The Peugeot 107 Hatchback is a mini compact that has been produced by Peugeot since 2005. It was developed as part of a breakthrough joint venture known as the B-Zero project involving not only Peugeot but also their sister company Citro?n and Japanese giant, Toyota. The project brought about the development of the 107 Hatchback as well as the Citro?n's C1 and Toyota's Aygo. All of these models are produced in the massive Toyota-Peugeot- Citro?n plant in the Czech Republic. Peugeot brought in the 107 to replace their highly popular 106 model, which they had withdrawn from the market in early 2004, after twelve years during which this compact Peugeot had become a worldwide best seller.

A Series Two Version of the Peugeot 107 Hatchback was introduced in early February 2009, with no major body changes, with a revamped grille and dramatically overstated headlamps being the series two's most outstanding features.

The 2012 Peugeot 107 draws its power from a 1-liter three-cylinder engine, generating just 67 horsepower and 70 pound-feet of torque, paired with a semi-auto gearbox. Those who opt for the Urban version can enjoy the pleasure of a full automatic transmission. The Peugeot 107 is designed for city driving and the occasional quick highway spurt. This is not a vehicle you want to take a long road trip in, unless you are taking all back roads.

The Peugeot 107 comes with Macpherson strut suspension, with front and torsion beam suspension for the rear. This is complemented by stabilizer bars in the front and rear. So, while this car may be small, it is quite smooth.

Coming either as a three or five-door, the Peugeot 107 Hatchback is a compact, which will come into its own in the city. Small is the word, with just 144 inches long and 68 inches wide with maximum headroom of around 56 inches. When Peugeot claim that four adults will fit in the car, they might be telling the truth, but these people should at least begin the journey as very good friends; the rear seat is about as cramped as you would expect. As you would imagine there is very little space available for luggage with the back seats up, around 47 cubic feet in total. In the three-door version, there is no possibility of folding the split rear seat, but the five-door allows it to be folded, and will afford another 12 cubic feet of space. In other words, carrying baggage or back seat passengers is not the selling point of the 2012 Peugeot 107 Hatchback.
