Used 2012 Peugeot 207 SW Wagon Review & Ratings

The 207 Sport Wagon is a medium-sized sport wagon from Peugeot, introduced in 2006. The 207 is based on the C3 platform of Peugeot's sister company, Citroen. It is produced in their home plant in France, as well as in a new production unit that was recently opened in Slovakia. Interestingly, the 207 hatchback's predecessor, the 206 never had an estate version, so the 207 SW is the first medium-sized wagon of its kind that Peugeot has produced in many years.

Given a major external and internal facelift in the summer of 2009, the 2012 Peugeot five-door 207 Sport Wagon, now comes with a revamped and super attractive front end that is dominated by LED headlights and a matt black grille. The elements are iconic of the new rounder and sturdier look that Peugeot is embracing with their line.

The Peugeot 207 Sport Wagon is available with two petrol engines. The first is a 1.4-liter that delivers 95 horsepower, which isn't much, but this vehicle is not really made for much for than city driving. The second engine is a more powerful and practical 1.6-liter that offers 120 horsepower. This may not seem like a huge improvement, but when you drive it, you can tell the difference. There is also a choice of two diesel engines for the 207 SW. It can be fitted with either a 1.4-liter engine that produces 70 horsepower or a 1.6-liter HDi that generates 90 horsepower or 110 horsepower if an intercooler is added. Irrespective of the engine, all of the Peugeot 207 Sport Wagons come paired with a five-speed manual gearbox that most consumers complain about it. Common complaints say the shifting is sloppy, and sometimes, it is a struggle to even get the car into gear.

For maximum road holding, and to ensure a comfortable ride, the 207 Sport Wagon comes with Macpherson strut suspension for the front and torsion beam suspension for the rear, which is paired up with a front and rear stabilizer bar as standard. This thoughtful engine ensures that the vehicle rides smooth and quieter than your typical compact vehicle.

At 147 inches long by 72 inches wide by 60 tall, the Peugeot 207 Sport Wagon is pretty roomy. It is capable of seating three passengers on the raised back row bench, but adults may find it a bit cramped after a while. Storage space is also generous with 23 cubic feet offered with the seats up. If you need more cargo room, the rear seats folds flat.
