The Renault Kangoo Maxi Z.E. Van is an electric version of the popular Kangoo Maxi Van, manufactured by Renault, a French car manufacturer. It is a commercial vehicle. The Kangoo Maxi Z.E. has been lengthened to 4.6 meters and is available in the two seat or five seat versions. The Maxi Z.E. is all the rage with anyone that is conscious of the environment. It gives off zero emissions and that is what the Z.E. stands for.

The Maxi Z.E. Van runs on an electric motor that is powered by a battery. It takes approximately 6 to 8 hours for the Maxi Z.E. to fully charge. You can charge the Maxi Z.E. using a device called the Wall Box. It is a secure device allowing you to recharge your electric vehicle at the convenience of your own home. The Maxi Z.E. can be recharged while you are at sleeping at night and will be fully charged for the next morning or you can charge it up while you are at work and it will be fully charged to get you home and to do all the errands that you need to do on your way home from work. The Wall Box is protected against any types of theft because it uses a key system that is secure.

Some of the standard options on the Maxi Z.E. Van are the ABS brake system, driver's side airbag, central locking system, warning sound if you leave the lights on and a seatbelt warning as well and a light in the cargo area so that it makes it easier and safer to load items. Some of the features that are specific to an electric vehicle are the trip computer on the dashboard, a system designed to heat the cabin up while charging up the battery, a recharging socket and a cord for charging up the vehicle. There are some features that are optional for you to purchase for your Maxi Z.E. Van. They are air conditioning, fog lights on the front of the van, cruise control system, parking sensors for the rear and an airbag for the front passenger.

Only being able to go 100 miles without a charge will be a drawback to some who drive long distances. However, for the average driver, if you are just going to drive around the city each day, this should not pose a problem. Leasing the battery makes more sense that purchasing it because if something goes wrong with the battery it is not your responsibility. You just take it back to the leasing company and they would provide you with a new one. The Kangoo Maxi Z.E. Van seems like a good reliable and dependable van. It is too early to tell how it will do when it carries heavier loads and what that effect will have on the battery life.
